She's insane, at least she thinks she is, while we all watch and know she's something far, far worse... which makes us laugh, which in turn makes her funny, which is a wonderful trait that should be touted as such.

If it makes you feel better I'm not really living on, or near, a beach. I'm a over weight, acne ridden, teenage boy living in a bunker somewhere in the rust belt of the upper Midwest. It IS a bunker, though I can't seem to get my friends to stop calling it my mom's basement. Damn them!

uncle phil 05-19-2008 11:48 AM

so tully should change his name to archie? (bunker, get it?)

tully seems like a parrothead, and that's ok by me...

spectre 05-19-2008 11:51 AM

Uncle Phil is just awesome. When he's serious, he brings well thought opinions to a conversation. When he's not, he's a lot of fun and brings in some good music too.

Giant Hamburger 05-19-2008 11:56 AM

Spectre gives long luxurious back rubs with both power and sensuality.
Beneath his knowing fingers, I can feel all the tensions of the real world just melt away.

Punk.of.Ages 05-19-2008 11:58 AM

Giant Hamburger has the most interesting and unique personality I've ever witnessed.

Dude, you're supposed to say something about the person above you when you post. No worries though, I got your back:

RetroGunslinger seems like a grounded and intelligent individual. He's also written a story that, while not exactly my style, is quite well-written. Writing skills on the internet are surprisingly rare, so that's pretty cool.

Punk.of.Ages goes to 11. I may make fun of him (and every other punk guitarist) but he is a cool guy who now has a cool amp.

Tully Mars likes Jimmy Buffet. This pleases me, as it seems somehow appropriate.

Another of the few people on this board whose posts I read whenever I stumble upon them. Insightful and blunt, Martian is my kind of poster.

P.S. he wears hats. 'Nuff said.

allaboutmusic 05-20-2008 12:52 PM

LoganSnake understands the significance of wearing the right wristwatch.

vancityboi 05-21-2008 01:16 AM

i havent been on this forum long enough to truly know allaboutmusic, im sure he/she is a nice person.

ps: just seeing his/her avatar is making me wanna play guitar hero, but at 2:11am i might wake up the neighbors..heheh

:D

Poppinjay 05-28-2008 10:44 AM

He had the good sense to join up, and therefore is a great person who can be counted on. Plus, his nick is cool, vancityboi. I like it!

ring 05-28-2008 01:37 PM

Poppinjay is a cogent creative.

Giant Hamburger 05-28-2008 02:52 PM

After the apocalypse, Ring and I will ride around on motorcycles having adventures,
fighting deranged mutants and searching for potable water.

I will keep her alive for as long as possible.

blahblah454 05-28-2008 02:56 PM

Thats about the nicest thing anyone has ever said before. Ring, you must be flattered.

GH, you are one funny.... I don't exactly know what you are, but whatever it is it is funny.

LoganSnake 05-28-2008 03:00 PM

Easiest screen name to remember. Ever.

ring 05-28-2008 03:56 PM

Logan Snake has many manifolds to his perceptions and joy.
He leaves generousities in his wake.

uncle phil 05-28-2008 04:03 PM

Ring always has a nice "ring" to her.

sapiens 05-28-2008 05:21 PM

Tully Mars writes articulate and compelling journal entries.

ring 05-29-2008 12:16 PM

I have spent many hours reading the archives of TFP in the short time
I have been here.

Sapiens intelligence and savvy are combined with a cool head,
even when "those that begin to lose their heads and start blaming...

He keeps it a class act, all the way.

DaveOrion 05-29-2008 12:27 PM

In short, ring rocks.

RetroGunslinger 05-29-2008 06:43 PM

He has an inspiring signature... which probably means he has a big penis.

girldetective 05-29-2008 07:07 PM

After reading the Mormon post I love RetroGunslinger.

I think his penis is probably bigger...what with all the swelling that wont go down.

Besitos vampireboy.

blahblah454 05-29-2008 08:37 PM

girldetective is amazingly witty and I love reading her posts. But her name change throws me off when I am in the main page and I see who has posted last in threads. (I think to myself, who on earth is girldetective? Then I see that awesome avatar and I look forward to a good read!)

Martian 05-29-2008 08:54 PM

blahblah454 is one sharp sign. Err... dude. Whatever.

I'm envious of how on track his life is.

SSJTWIZTA 05-29-2008 08:56 PM

Weather its Astronomy, cosmology, or musically related martian always has great advice. i always respect what he has to say and i never doubt it.

girldetective 05-30-2008 10:49 PM

SSJTWIZTAs got game. Me likey the action and enthusiasm of his posts.

Of course it does. I'm pretty sure I've already explained that to you.

Martian's cool incarnate, even if I do fear he might have plans to blow up the earth.

As for Mexico wait for a cooler temps. Really hot and humid right now.

girldetective 05-31-2008 05:42 AM

Tully Mars is a man you can count on. I just know it.

StellaLuna 05-31-2008 04:37 PM

No matter what TFP says, girldetective is not insane. No, really.

snowy 05-31-2008 06:16 PM

She's adorable.

ring 05-31-2008 06:16 PM

I have that book, I have the stuffed bats also.
Stella Luna knows quality truth when she sees it.

mixedmedia 05-31-2008 06:23 PM

Stellaluna, snowy & ring are three of my favorite TFP ladies so i thought I'd take this rare opportunity to tell them all that.

RetroGunslinger 05-31-2008 06:29 PM

Mixedmedia is a Bob Dylan fan and she has one of the best Dylan and one of the best non-Dylan quotes in her signature, making her all kinds of awesome that I can't even imagine to begin to describe. She's also a Super Moderator, and boy howdy don't I love the word "super".... Super.... heh...

lotsofmagnets 06-01-2008 03:16 AM

retro knows not only how to please a mormon, but their entire family as well :)

ring 06-09-2008 05:35 PM

irreverent honest youthful energy.
intelligent curious unabashed lust for life.

Welcome to TFP....I love your user title.

Punk.of.Ages 06-09-2008 05:37 PM

Ring has a wonderfully unique thought process that inspires originality in others.

She's truly one in a million.

Punk has a conscience.
Punk is passionate, but not without regard.
I respect the punk with purpose, they get stuff done ... tell it like it is.

girldetective 06-11-2008 12:02 PM

ottopilot : a dimension all on his own.

little_tippler 06-11-2008 03:33 PM

girldetective writes interesting and well thought out contributions to the TFP...she is a sensitive soul with a curious mind and a big heart!

kramus 06-11-2008 05:04 PM

little_tippler has often posted bang-on, timely and very welcome observations and responses which have been personally very welcome.
Plus, she has beautiful eyes.

mixedmedia 06-11-2008 05:18 PM

kramus is an abundantly talented illustrator and a very thoughtful and friendly person.

amonkie 06-12-2008 02:51 AM

Mixedmedia has a strong talent for looking at things in not so ordinary ways, or looking at offbeat things that I'd never heard of, and bringing them to my attention at which point I often become a fan.

uncle phil 06-12-2008 02:57 AM

amy gives good talk...and listen...

Martian 06-12-2008 03:34 AM

uncle phil is my favourite uncle. He sure seems to know a lot about history.

snowy 06-12-2008 07:31 AM

When I need an ear to bend, I can always count on Martian.

lotsofmagnets 06-12-2008 07:55 AM

onesnowyowl appears to have the capacity to remain calm, rational and eloquent 99% if not 100% of the time

hehe wierd, it appered to post about 8 times....

girldetective 06-12-2008 07:57 AM

Snowy has a big heart, and a big brain. She knows she cant go wrong with these. We like her practicality with humor.

Edit: Lotsofmagnets has the ability to jump time and beat me to the punch for Snowy. In addition, Magnets pulls me right in with her posts. Quite attractive.

LoganSnake 06-12-2008 09:16 AM

girldetective came to TFP and fit right in right from the start. You can't even tell she used to be upright anymore.

blahblah454 06-12-2008 07:00 PM

Even though LoganSnake works alone, he still manages to kick a large amount of ass. Very insightful posts.

thespian86 06-12-2008 07:05 PM

blah, and obviously we are on a first name basis (is there a first name in that?), is constantly listening to Iron and Wine; in fact, it's been on repeat for three days. This means I like him. He is also Canadian; therefore I understand him...

I see a beautiful friendship.

Martian 06-12-2008 07:18 PM

I am massively looking forward to meeting punkmusicfan21 when he comes to Toronto. It's gonna be fun times.

Awesome guy with a good head on his shoulders.

allaboutmusic 06-14-2008 12:39 AM

The coolest extra-terrestrial I know.

Fly 06-14-2008 06:33 AM

allaboutmusic.............damn,that says it all right there.

and i was allowed to steal the guitar pic too..........thanks bro.

mixedmedia 06-14-2008 06:41 AM

Fly is one of the first folks around here that I got 'an impression' of. And that impression was correct. He is the essence of amity and good nature. He stays above the fray and is friendly with everyone. So much more noble (and rare) than those of us who love to jump in and blather our opinions all over every one else, lol.

Fly is like unto 'the Dude.' And that's a hell of a thing in my estimation. :)

girldetective 06-14-2008 08:24 AM

Now, after reading and having a sense of mixedmedia, each time I see a pic of her I think of my sisters and how she would fit right into the bunch. If she answers this question, she will be one of the sisters : Where is that damn toothpick?

mixedmedia is one of the good ones. I feel friendly toward her.

snowy 06-14-2008 08:25 AM

She's such a sweetie, and I love how interested in life she is--and in learning from life. She really is a detective!

Willravel 06-14-2008 08:26 AM

Speaking of sweeties, Snowy is one of the sweetest people you could ever hope to meet. But she's the best kind of sweet: sweet with a little mischief and a sense of humor.

thespian86 06-14-2008 08:28 AM

He is my online hero.

xepherys 06-14-2008 08:30 AM

He's a Packers fan... err, well... uhm... at least he's NOT a Viking's fan. Yeah, that's it! ;)

allaboutmusic 06-14-2008 09:21 AM

Never mind online hero - xeph is a real-life hero.

Martian 07-01-2008 09:41 PM

Jeez, do you seriously mean to tell me that nobody has anything nice to say about allaboutmusic? Well, I certainly do.

allaboutmusic is, as his name implies, all about music. I find that dedication admirable.

He's also a teacher, which is highly commendable and takes far more patience than I could ever muster.

There's two for you, since you had to wait.

Punk.of.Ages 07-01-2008 11:37 PM

Martian is a radiant pool of knowledge in all things that aren't finger nails.

Martian 07-05-2008 08:00 PM

I swear I'll keep pulling that damn cord 'till this thing starts up again.

Punk.of.Ages claim to be just your average boozed up punk rocker, but he'll fool yeah. There's a lot of depth to this fellow.

amonkie 07-05-2008 09:35 PM

Martian has been very supportive in my times of distress, even going so far as to round up personal puppy pictures in hopes of lifting my spirits.

shesus 07-05-2008 09:41 PM

Monkie can always makes me laugh.

JumpinJesus 07-05-2008 09:42 PM

Shesus is sexy as a mofo eatin' chili off some toes.

RickB 07-05-2008 10:02 PM

JumpinJesus has one of the most important jobs I know.

jewels 07-06-2008 02:37 AM

Rick B is a quiet kinda guy. Usually when he "speaks" he's got something interesting to say.

girldetective 07-07-2008 08:19 PM

jewels is just one mom at tfp - da bomb mom.

im happy to have made her acquaintance.

ubertuber 07-07-2008 10:11 PM

Hey there girldetective -- you are a good fit here at TFP. You jumped in headfirst and didn't look back. It already seems like you've been here all along -- so thanks for showing up.

Martian 07-07-2008 10:14 PM

ubertuber has a lot of brass. He's also a cool guy and from what I hear a great musician.

ItWasMe 07-07-2008 11:44 PM

Martian is quick to jump in with honest, straight forward advice. He isn't afraid to call it like he sees it.

allaboutmusic 07-08-2008 04:43 AM

Like ItWasMe, ItWasMe's avatar makes me smile.

girldetective 07-21-2008 01:38 PM

aamusic always has something nice to say about someone, anyone.

LoganSnake 07-21-2008 01:41 PM

I really like girldetective's personality and outlook on things.

ring 02-22-2009 08:28 AM

I imagine LoganSnake has multiple muses.

Fly 02-22-2009 08:35 AM

ring is an absolute sweetheart...........i love reading damn near anything she writes

smooch for you girl........as long as OCM doesn't mind

mixedmedia 02-22-2009 08:38 AM

Fly is admirably 'it.'

Giant Hamburger 02-24-2009 11:55 AM

If I could grow an army of Mixedmedias in one of my laboratory vats I would have already ruled the world!

Charlatan 02-24-2009 02:16 PM

He goes well with a giant order of fries.

cdwonderful 02-26-2009 04:07 PM

he seems to be socially conscious, a good sense of humor, and a particularly alarming avatar.

gardens 02-26-2009 06:47 PM

a great teacher always willing to help others and very modest as regards his namesake

Glory's Sun 02-26-2009 06:51 PM

gardens hasn't been here long but has made good contributions and I'm looking forward to further contributions around the board :)

amonkie 03-01-2009 11:53 AM

Gucci is like a crab cake - crusty on the outside, gooey on the inside. And goes well with vodka!

snowy 03-01-2009 12:43 PM

amonkie has one of the biggest hearts I know of...and I'm happy to see her ducking back in here every now and again. :D

Daniel_ 03-01-2009 12:53 PM

Snowy has a new name, and now matches what people have actually been calling her. :D

Teufel Hunden 03-01-2009 06:19 PM

Daniel is a strong name. It's Hebrew meaning "God is my judge"

Jetée 06-11-2009 11:50 AM

Teufel Hunden is a newbie, but as soon as he joined, he made a concerted and sincere effort to compliment a fellow member. I rarely see such friendly disposition in dual: actual/virtual daily life.

I hope to see him again sometime.

Giant Hamburger 06-11-2009 12:10 PM

I have only pleasant thoughts about the young Master Goodman Jetée, Esq.

His posts are like a waves of soft white bunnies washing over us.

His manner is refined and he subscribes to an erudite philosophy that includes correct grammar and timely punctuation.

If he were food I would have seconds.

Leto 06-11-2009 12:52 PM

If giant Hamburger was food, I would be full. MMMMM Hamburger.....

Punk.of.Ages 06-15-2009 12:02 AM

Leto likes his hockey. Liking hockey is always a good thing.

Plus, he has a tendency to bring light to a side of a situation I didn't see before.

Charlatan 06-15-2009 01:37 AM

Contrary to appearances... Punk.of.Ages has the soul of a gentleman.
