Lighten Up Frances!
Here is an image of hurricane Frances. I imagine there are quite a few people in Southeast Florida who have developed religion in the last few days and a few more that will convert in the next 48 hours.
Pray for them....

Yeah Mr Mephisto, about 2 weeks ago Charlie hit the west coast of Florida.
Hey Frances, stop being such a bitch! Nobody invited you to the party, go away

It's always a good sign when the storm is twice as big as the state it's about to hit...

I've been in a few hurricans years ago. It was scary and a whole lot of fun all rolled into one. I remember watching my bicycle being flipped into the air and thrown accross our yard.
Best of luck.

I'm riding it out in Melbourne.
Charley went by in about 3 hours, but for Frances it will take something like 24 hours to pass.

Maybe I should start investing in the larger construction companies based in Florida. That baby looks like its going to have one hell of a tantrum all over Florida, Good thing I'm hidden behind the Appalachans .
Although I do feel sorry for the people in Florida. That stupid storm kept my girlfriend from going to the beach with her family. I wonder if detonating a large nuke in the middle of it would disrupt it enough for it to loose strength and begin to disperse?

semms like a good time for land speculating- seroiusly, i fail to see how anyone lives there in a house not built like a fortress- there has to be a way to make em safer and more durable- earth contacts maybe- no, water tables too high- what about monolithic concrete domes? doesnt get cold there so thats a bonus for that type- do they have huricane building codes there?

D'uh! How could I forget?
I actually think detonating a nuke in the eye of the 'cane would cause a massive disruption in the tides and whatnot. We'd probably see some pretty cool tidal waves and Tsunamis hitting the coasts of Florida and the Carribeans. Cooooool! At least us Canadians are safe, right? |

I would think that detonating a nuke in the middle of it would cause the fallout to be carried for thousands of miles, causing much more harm than the hurricane itself would. Sounds like fun

I live in Oklahoma. If we were told well in advance a tornado was coming, but with only a whimpy 130MPH wind, we would all drag out our lawn chairs, get a case of beer and party.

It was a category 4 - inching up to a 5 - -so it's less than Charley now - -but it could pick up steam again --
