First ever massage spa treatment.. - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Ok, so i'm in manhattan and i still love saying that, but anyway...

bought my female friend a 30 min massage and scalp massage treatment from bliss spa and thought..hmm, i'll get a 30 min massage for myself to see what it's all about...

so i'm in this place where there are scores of women walking around adn they send me upstairs to check in and change...they give a robe and flipflop shoes for the lcoker room and you go change and wait..most people just wear the robe and nothing else, so essentially, it's a nude thing..and hey, when in rome.....luckily, not many guys do this sort fo thing, so the lockers are pretty empty...

So i'm waiting in the lounge area for men and they have corona in ice for ya to enjoy before your treatment...so hey, why not, when in rome...

a dominican lady opens the door and leads me down through the scores of women to the massage rooms where the lights are low and soft music is playing..she says to disrobe and get under the blankets on the table..no biggie as she leaves the room..

So i'm laying buck nekkid (screw the nude term by this point) on a very comfy table with a blanket over me and i'm starting to get a teensy bit aroused bc it reminded me of past gf's when they would give me backrubs or what have you....

So she comes in and it's all quiet with the music and she pulls the blankets down and i'm feeling incredible by this point, but the smell of the lotion mixed with her smell hits me and it's insta-hard time...so here i am trying to relax while giving her a standing ovation, if you will..and no, this isn't a massage with a happy ending, so you're trying to keep it down for a change....

so covers are pulled and parts are exposed and manipulated and i'm thinking i'll be ok...till she holds the blanket up slightly and tells me to turn over......

at this point, i'm reciting major concertos in my head from some of the more boring music classes i've had and things are going fine and i'm drifting again....

afterwards, a nice fruit/cheese/cracker snack, another beer, a shower and steam and done...30 min massage took about 2 hrs...

So, i'm asking, has anyone else tried one? This was at www.blissspa.com , which i'm told is one of the more exclusive places in manhattan, but was pretty inexpensive compared to places in charlotte. At any rate, i must say, it was awkward to become aroused during something that isn't supposed to be sexual at all...took a fwe to really calm back down, but my god, it felt soooo good....

I've always wanted to do this, and tried to get one for my wife but she wouldn't. I think I'd have the same problem, any time my back is rubbed, bingo, instant hard on!

hehe, no happy endings, these are totally nonsexual, but MY GOD, they feel awesome considering i just had the shortest full body massage available..and yeah, they do have a sense of humor about it. If you browse around on the website, you'll see things like "We do treat guys here, we even keep beers in the lounge, how's that for treatment" and "You can wear whatever you want under the robe, most go au natural, but you can wear a space suit if it's more comfortable (note, please reserve your space suit in advance as they are limited)" just funny stuff.

I do not, however, think i could ever go for a sexual type massage with a happy ending. It just wouldn't be right to me...I dunno, i'm weird.

I am a licensed massage therapist. I deal with that stuff a lot. Intruth, we are taught in school to IGNORE it. Do men wake up with hard-ons because they are horny? No. An erection can also be just a relaxation response.

This is a sheet I give to all new clients, especially for the men:

Because massage is not a common part of our contemporary cultural experience, many people feel uneasy about receiving their first massage. Here are a few guidelines to help you feel at ease and to gain the greatest benefit from your massage therapy session.

Inform the therapist of areas of your body that are injured, tense or sore. Also mention any medical conditions, such as high blood pressure, a heart problem, chronic headaches, varicose veins or recent surgery.

Close your eyes and allow yourself to relax as completely as possible. Focus your attention on your breathing, which should be slow, deep and even.

When the therapist’s hands locate areas of pain or tension in the body, consciously try to relax those areas. As you inhale deeply, visualize the breath flowing to the tense area and relaxing it. As you fully exhale, visualize the tension leaving the body with the breath.

Conversation can be distracting to you and the therapist. Good massage requires concentration on the part of the therapist. Please confine your conversation to feedback about the massage.

Allow the therapist to move your limbs into various positions. Be limp, like a rag doll, and do not try to help move your arms, legs or head. The therapist is a trained professional who will not do anything to hurt you. However, feel free to speak up if anything the therapist does is too painful or ticklish, or uncomfortable in any way.

The best way to receive a massage is with the body completely unclothed. The therapist is sensitive to the need for privacy and will keep your body covered with a sheet or blanket, except for the area being massaged. If this arrangement is not comfortable for you, you may wear underwear or a swimsuit.

Contrary to a common notion in our society about massage, it is an ancient healing art and not a sexual service. The body might become aroused as you experience the pleasure of total relaxation. However, sexual behavior during the massage is inappropriate and will result in termination of the session.

Very often, as the body releases tension during a massage, the mind will release emotion. If you suddenly feel sad, angry or joyful, do not be alarmed. Allow yourself to express these feelings by crying or laughing. At the very least, feel free to sigh with relaxation or hum with pleasure.

Many people fall asleep during a massage, an indication that the body and mind are releasing stress and tension. Your therapist will gently wake you when it is time to turn over or to end the massage.

I don't often have time at home, but I try to get a massage while on vacation. If you have the chance and the cash, get a four handed massage. Afterward you feel like you have had a three hour massage.

I got a massage and body wrap a while back, from a female aquaintance of my wife, that was weird. Very sensual, had to think a lot of baseball, and a bit uncomfortable having someone you know do it. It was great though, she did a great job, i ended up kind of dozing off, kind of hypnotized

Massage is a wonderful thing, fer shur. Got one a week ago last Saturday. Now I'm trying to schedule that same person again, but her hours stink (9-5 weekdays, with MAYBE some time on Saturday). I might have to find someone else.
