did you google it yet?

try that out and see if self-reliance wins out over dependence on others for common information.

once you've figure it out, why don't you post an update for everyone, detailing what NOTW is and why you're seeing it everywhere.

Yeah, I googled it earlier but didn't have time to read the 50,000+ pages, I know it was a jesus quote or something, but I don't understand why people want it all over there vehicles.

a google search of the following term: NOTW "Not of this world"; nets the following:

second result:

John 8:23 - And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

fifth result:

Quote:
Have you seen that insignia? I saw it on cars parked at church and around and couldn't figure it out until I got up close to a sticker at a store - NOTW means Not of this World. It reminds me that every time we as parents say "Our family doesn't do/say/watch/listen to that" because of our commitment to God we are in but not of this world. I'll join you in not opening the can of worms between the perception of truth based on faith. I remain, NOTW!

how hard was that?

for acronyms i would suggest www.acronymfinder.com ; however, in this particular case it doesn't give you what you are looking for.

acronymfinder is great for technology acronyms though.

C'mon, man.
When self reliance doesn't work,
come to the TFP.

Many people have done it. I bet you've done it too, phredgreen.

Who's it gonna hurt? It's nice to have a place to go to when you are in need.

"Say what again. Say what again! I dare ya, I double dare ya, you motherfucker! Say what one more goddamn time."
"He's pasty.."
"Go on!"
"He's fuzzy"
"Does he look like a bitch?"

"Aauuuh auh!"
"Does he look like a bitch?"
"Noo!"
"Then why are you trying to fuck him like a bitch, Brett?"
"I didn't.."
"Yes you did. Yes you did, Brett! You tried to fuck him and Phred Green don't like to get fucked by anybody else than Mrs. Green.

Not of this world I would never have guessed, I don't even really understand the explanation....

I would have guessed it was some sort of political statement --- as in Not George W - what do I know, I don't understand the fish thing on the cars that I see.

Eh, don't give him credit for it. He copied word for word (with the names changed to protect the innocent) the dialogue from a scene in Pulp Fiction.

That said, I still enjoyed it

This may be true, but more often than not there is somebody who knows it off the top of their head.

Somebody may be an expert in the area that the question deals with.

I'm just trying to see if the TFP works like I think it works.

100% with you. I think had I responded as Phred initially did someone would have told me to adjust my attitude, try to help rather than being a pain or go someplace else because that reply isn't worthy of being a TFPer. But I'm just guessing. Not that his response was terrible, just alittle condescending.

Well in my own personal opinion, I'd rather post questions on the TFP because its more entertaining to see the responses you get from fellow TFP'ers than to just google and read what comes up.

It's just more fun, it combines both getting your question answered and TFP interaction.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with it.
