Jon Stewart's Commencement Address
I wasn't sure if this should go in Tilted Humor. I put it here because obviously there are some good "serious" nuggets in there. I think that most of the advice given in commencement speeches is always easier said than done, and I don't know if it actually makes anybody feel more secure as they graduate college, but at least it makes for a few laughs.
Jon Stewart's 2004 Commencement Speech to the College of William & Mary Quote:

Jon Stewart is far too funny for his own good. I'm worried that Leno, Conan and Letterman might have it in for him.

I guess I'm the only one who didn't like it. Just not as funny as he usually is IMO. Also seemed pretty condescending to the school. Now I know he's a comic and the delivery is important, but in just reading it it came across as kind of insulting to the college.

He is my hero, but I am concerned that Kerry might win the presidency this coming election. Not because I want bush to win, believe me I don't, but I am afraid that Mr. Stewart might not be nearly as funny without the goldmine of comedy that is the bush administration. In some sense, you could almost call bush and stewart a comic duo.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Jon Stewart. He's one of the very few people in this world that I would be absolutely floored to meet.

I love Jon Stewart. He's a great guy.
However I heard that same 9-11 back to normal bit before from David Cross. He tells a story about how he was walking in New York, and he saw a garbage man driving really slowly, with a huge line of cars behind him. He got closer and realized that the garbage man was keeping pace with a good looking woman, asking her if she wanted to get it on, looking for that one woman in a hundred that wanted to get laid in a pile of garbage. That's when he realized things were back to normal in NYC. God Bless You David Cross.
