I have booger issues

What is the deal with this Spring?! What the fuck is in bloom? Whatever it is needs to be classified as a WMD and eliminated from the face of the planet. My allergies are so bad, it’s like someone installed a snot-filled fire-hose in my sinuses. I think I’ve lost ten pounds – all of it green.

I decided to shave off my facial hair (I was tired of crusty boogers in my whiskers). But I’ve been blowing my nose so much, I managed to abrade the skin off the sides of my nostrils. Now I have scabs on my nose. If looks like I shaved my face and nearly cut my nose off.

I can’t go to work like this. I’m a mess.

I think I’ll grind up a big bag of Claritin and snort it Scarface-style.

Is it just me, or are others suffering too?

I'm right there along with ya.... thank goodness we're about to hit 100 degree weather again, and make all the pollen go away!

I understand what you're going through, BELIEVE ME.

My allergies are so bad I need two separate prescriptions.

I take Allegra and Flonase.

Keep in mind, this isn't the over the counter shit you can get. The allegra are freakin' horse pills. Y'know, you'll pull out your pill and I'll be like "heh, you call that a pill?"

The flonase... it's the BIG bottle, the one that says something like "14L" on the side. Yeah, that shit.

I know how you feel (sometimes I wish I actually WOULD cut my nose off).

allegra is great if you've never had it before. however, i took it for a couple years and i definitely started to feel it losing its strength. i turned to allergy shots which worked MIRACLES. yea it kinda sucks to go there twice a week, but later on you only have to go like once a month, etc.

i would just buy a normal mosteurizer and rub your nose with it. you'll blow your nose and the lotion will come off but you can apply it again and again. it's not like it's going to kill you.

Yup It's so bad this year that taking any Claritan seems like it does nothing to help. It aggravated my asthma I had so much drainage. It sucks to be us with allergies.

My daughter has been picking the dandelions and bringing them to me. "Uhhh Thanks honey" (as I gingerly accept them to put in a cup OUTSIDE my door. Then head straight to wash my hands.) She's not getting much reaction from them but my eyes get so itchy an puffy it feels like they're swelling closed.

Mine were horrible when I lived in south east washington state. It's a small psuedo desert. After moving to colorado they improved quite a bit. Except during fire season. One good fire and the dry grass just kills me. The fire season 2002 was utterly miserable for me. I think I had 5 times as many allergy attacks that summer.

I have severe fall allergies...ragweed. Go figure the Nebraska's state flower is goldenrod. But, this year, I've noticed some spring allergy sympptoms popping up. I'm hoping that it's just unusually high pollen counts, and not a new trend in my allergies.

Mine were pretty bad last month also. I always had a bat in the cave, much to my wifes dismay when we were out. It took a few weeks but I'm a bit better now, less boogers same amount of stuffiness though. My brother had the same problems but about 1000x worse, he took allegra and has hardly any allergies now.

I took some allegra even though I tested negative for allergies... it seemed to work quite well.

If you live in the Midwest and you're allergic to pollen, God bless you. (STL here)

This has been one of my worst years yet. Although my eyes haven't itched nearly as bad as they have in past years, my asthma is awful. I've awakened Friday and yesterday mornings in asthma attacks and on Friday I couldn't even find my inhaler... that was fun.

I'm on Zyrtec and Flonase. I've been on the former since the middle of March and contrary to what my allergist said, the stuff hasn't been completely effective.. mangy bastard

Sooo....lemme guess. You never sneezed? Hahahaha.....

I have had freaking intense allergies since I was a kid. I had to go through the weekly shot treatment. They had the "prick test". They would draw 10 circles on each arm, then they would take 20 different concentrations of plant and inject it into me to see if I would react. Well, I reacted to absofuckinlutelyeverything!!!!

I wouldn't be able to last a half hour outside if it weren't for allegra. Serious, I feel your pain. Happens the beginning of spring every year. I go through the sneezing, then comes the nosebleeds. I will sneeze so much during a few day period that the inner lining of my nasal passage will wear thin. Then, when a nasty booger fastens itself to my cavity, I blow it out and...oops, nose bleed. I can never win.

Usually I have a high tolerance for pollen, dust and what-have-you, but when I get to sneezing I have sneezing sessions that come in threes.
Three sneezes, one right after another.

Does anyone, beside myself, like the feeling of an almost sneeze, and then you follow through and sneeze?
It feels weird but fantastic at the same time.

(maybe I need to get out more)

I'm on shots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I'm feeling mighty Fine!

BTW.. claritin worked for about 1 hour on me, and then quit workin'. Allegra-D is the only one thus far that doesn't get slaughtered by my immune system and thus helps me out when I need it.

I never suffered from allergies before I came to the States. Guess my nose just ain't used to the pollen that's in the air here, or something. Man, it's even worse this spring than a year ago. I'm with ya... popping antihistamines sucks, cuz they make me tired...

I am allergic to most everything. On the 0 to 4 scale, 4 being the most severe reaction, I reacted a 4 to trees. I reacted a 3 to pollen, dust, indoor mold and outdoor mold. This is not pleasant. I have included a satellite photo of my neighborhood for emphasis. The red circle is my house, the Green circled area is swamp, the blue circled areas are woods.

The tiny section of road seen in the upper left corner is a 4-lane highway. I can barely hear it at night thanks to all these trees. Woods are a mixed blessing for me.

I have allergies and sinuses worse than anyone I've ever met. I've been "sick" for about a month and a half now. Everytime I go to the doctor they tell me I'm not sick, that's it's just allergies. At one point in the death-cycle, my throat was so sore (yes, my throat gets sore due to the shit) that I couldn't even talk due to the pain. The doc said my throat was worse off than if I had strep throat. That sucked.

Right now I'm just popping Sudaphed, Ibuprofen, and squirting acid up my nose (drop the shit about being addicted, I don't use it often) to relieve the shit. It's terrible. This year is by far the worst year I've had in my entire life for allergies. My ears hurt like I have an ear infection, my throat hurts like I have strep, I have breathed out of my mouth for a month and a half, and I'm getting quite pissed off about it.

Guess I'm lucky in that aspect -- Never had any allergies at all. My thought process is that with the amount of alcohol I consume it must just wipe the slate clean, so to speak....

that nasty old pollen violating my smell holes. Sinus troubles here... used to get an infection every couple of months. Now I just get itchy eyes leading to eye infections. when the pollen makes me itch I jam my thumbs in there, probably not the doctor prescribed method of dealing with it, but it gets the job done
