Hell, I don't blame the guy for killing himself. Have you seen how high some of those tickets are?

I know I was scared shitless when I got pulled over for my ticket. The cop had been riding in my blind spot and I didn't see her when I switched lanes, next thing I know I've got the lights on behind me. The whole "Do you know why I pulled you over?" crap was a little hard to answer... that was not a fun morning.

First (and only) ticket I ever got was in Washington. First thing out of the cops mouth "Ok, where's the fire?".
I don't normally go in for stereotypes, but that was kind of funny.

well, someone could make an honest case for the traffic violation being fatal, if they're sick and twisted enough. it's a bizarre twist on "disobeying the law costs people their lives" but some of us are twisted

I've never been pulled over, so I've never experienced the sheer terror that would cause someone to shot themselves. Seriously though, obviously that guy had other issues at the time. I feel bad for the cop who had to see it happen.

That's so funny, yet so wrong. Seriouly though, cops need to realize how most people perceive them. You get someone who's seriously emotionally disturbed or suicidal and it's not hard to think of the pullover as the straw the broke the camels back. |

Maybe it will came out later that he was a wanted man and didn't want to go to jail. He knew the officer would run a check on his licence and find out.
In this day and age, people do some strange shit. Or maybe he wanted to file a police brutality case to win a lot of money???

I put on the dome light, roll down the tinted windows, make sure they can see my hands....I actually get -alot- of warnings. He has a gun and he's nervous. I no longer see the point in "what was I doing wrong officer...?" I speed. Not crazy speed, but still....
Cops are more scared than you are. A "routine" traffic stop and obviously the driver had a gun.... Nevertheless, it's not worth shooting yourself over.

why do innocent people get so upset about a traffic violation? If they know that is all they did....its not that bad. Its when you have more to hide that then it gets weird. I think shooting themselves is taking it to the extreme though.

I had never been pulled over before, in my 2 years of driving (Ooh, lots of experience, yeah) experience. Until last saturday night.
I was coming home from a wedding at 3am on the highway. I was in a super-snazzy pinstripe suit, listening to some GY!BE, drinking some slurpee, when I go to make a left turn out of the turn lane and I see the blue lights. Oh shit. What did I do? Was I speeding? Fuck me. I'm dead. I'm so dead. I don't know what I did. Heart was pounding. Rolled down the window. "Hey man, you were all over the road. You okay?" "I was?.... Yeah I'm fine" "You ain't been drinkin?" "No. Well, this slurp...... No." "Haha...okay man. You got far to go? Maybe you're tired. It's three in the morning" "I know what time it is...nah I live right down here. Coming from a wedding." "Okay man, be safe alright?" "uh...you too" It was definitely not what I expected. |

Haha, maybe the copper was bored.
I think that the man who shot himself just had a bad day. Tickets are actually one of the more stressful things in life, and maybe that guy jus got fired and dumped and jus decided to say, oh fugg it, life is against me so i'll end it. Sux for him...and the cop |

I got pulled over for speeding recently. Had a nice conversation with the state trooper. My ticket is due this Saturday, but so far, they haven't turnded it in. If it doesn't show, it will get dismissed automatically. I'm hoping he 'lost' it.

I agree with "ChrisJericho" and "mingusfingers" they can see enough with those damn flood lights they use. As for the man there was obviously more involved than just being pulled over.

I got pulled over for my break lights not activating. The cop was hella cool and actually said "Im not joshing you. They didnt come on." So I did the normal push in the break pedal and wham...they come on...he just said check it out and have a nice night. That is the only time I was pulled over and it was funny as hell.
