Boston radio anchor reporting from Florida
This is interesting...

Personally, I think this is something pretty stupid to get hung up over. If the guy is good at delivering the information he's supposed to, then what's the problem? So what if he's not REALLY cold when describing the weather. I still get told what the weather is like.

It happens all the time. Same with newspapers. There was a sportswriter for the Chicago Tribune who wrote his column from San Jose, CA.

I don't think it is that big of a deal for him to report local news from a remote location. I think it is a bit dishonest to lead people to believe you are reporting locally when you really aren't, though. When he says "we" in those reports he is clearly being deceptive, that is certainly an ethical (dark) grey area, to me.
Would I make a really big deal out of it? Probably not, but it does say something about what the station (and that reporter) think about their listeners. -Smarm |

Not a big deal. If I recall, alot of people work at home. So, if you have a job, are you required to physically attend to the office?
People need to get over with the fact that technological advancement is allowing them to work at home as opposite to working at your office.

Just another instance of one person making a big stink out of nothing because they think they have been deceived. He has been doing this for 39 years successfully. So, he slipped up with the weather reporting. He isn't trying to deceive his public. And what "unspoken promise" has been broken between journalist and reader? If we really wanted to make an issue out of it, how about we chastise the journalists for one-sided, mis-guided reporting on a multitude of issues.

Basically, if they found out something ethically wrong but it's in their favor, then they aint gonna be bitching about it. If it isn't in their favor, then they're gonna be bitching. In this case of the weather report, they're bitching that they're not in a warmer weather as the radio reporter is and they want to lynch him... *clutches his axe* NOW Can I use it?

Who cares where he was reporting from, just as long as the weather forecast is accurate. They were just pissed that they weren't in Florida with him.
Don't ya just love this electronic age??
