In real world time. I was wondering how much time our leaders spend on the tfproject? Do they hold other jobs such as Halx with matts models. Do you have any time for family and recreation? What the moderators give is incredible
Artelevevison, JadziaDax, Spectre, SecreatMethod70 and the many others I haven't mentioned. Someone is always there to help. I know the work load must be overwelming.

Since there were BBSes I have been a constant Internet User. My online time is equal to the time I've been on earth since I first dialed into my local BBS.
For me, it's about adding another task to the multitask list. For the other mods and admins. I can tell you that many many many hours of our time are devoted to the site. And of course, there are members who are contributing content and contributing to the community on a daily basis for hours at a time...

Well, during the day, I'm working away as a Database Manager for a 24/7 Telecommunication Company.
I'm mostly on Evenings, but of course, I do allow for time for other fun in my life...going-out, games, dates, etc. We mods seem to be able to work out, one or another will be here. It especially helps that many of us are in different time zone. God-forbid you get us all here at once, then we are really working the board. You just get to know where to focus your attention. And you also notice things, as you are having your own fun on the board. But we love this place, that's why we invest so much into it. |

I'm a college student, and that usually ends up taking a lot of time. Usually, I have a calc book or something like that sitting next to me as I'm checking the boards.

college student. I code and surf simultaneously, and just leave IRC up I have a life, or hte resemblances of one. it involves 17 units of school, ~15 hrs of work, cooking, shopping, all those mundane details, maintaining my relationship w/ my boyfriend, and trying to keep in touch w/ my other buddies. no sweat *yawn* now, if only sleep was in there, somewhere. But I'm definately around, if not on the site, at least in IRC, at LEAST a good 15? hrs weekly.

Those darn moderators:
They make me laugh, guide me in new directions, open my eyes, cheer me up, educate me, have kind words, a stern hand and most of all they care about the community and its Brothers and Sisters...JUST LIKE MY MOM!

Work as a Voc Rehab Assistant full time. Ride my bike two hours a day. Have a family but I'm divorced so I only get to see the kiddos once a week. My SO is on TFP so that helps. I am also going back to school so that is taking up a lot of my time.

Ok.. now that I've gotten that out of my system... Some already know this, but I'm a high school mathematics teacher full time, all year long (I work summers, too). I am very dedicated to my students, so I find working on the TFP as my down time. This is what I do for enjoyment. We work well together. We all bring things to the table that helps everyone else. I, like art, have been online for ages. I remember the days of IRC before the Finland split. I remember the days before AOL, and the local bulletin boards. I still have my first external modem (I believe max was 2400 baud) that I used on my Apple //e (still have that, too). Gee, thanks for making me feel old |

Thanks to the Mod's for running TFP seamlessly. Without their behind the scenes work, TFP would fall apart immidiately. They make TFP what it is today! Of course with Hal's blessing!!

But how did the mods come to be so?

We all hold down a full time gig. Whether it be work or school, this is secondary for us all. I own and operate an automation and theatre company which takes almost all of my time, but being in front of a computer for most of my day/night, I get quite of exposure to the boards. Not as much as some others, but we all contribute what we can. This is a great place and I'm proud to be able to give back to it whenever possible. As far as becoming a mod, I was around for all four of the boards and had a pretty good idea of what it was and where it was heading. I was recognized as a regular member and was asked if I was interested in helping out. That was quite a while ago.

I'm a full-time college student, but I also have a 24/7 internet connection which helps.
This summer should be interesting considering how much time I'm dedicating to working. I probably won't be atround nearly as much.

I became a mod because of my wonderful charm, elegance, and supreme intelligance. Sorta.
Anyway - Full time student. I'm graduating this semester, so I need to go find a job. The school part is good, I go to class Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8 AM to 10 PM, with a three hour break. When I'm at home ignoring my studying and stuff, you'll usually find me on TFP and the chat. Aside from my usual web surfing habits, TFP is where I spend all my time.
