I just hate people who don't know proper phine etiquette.

Like people who just put me on hold WITHOUT asking at all. I work in a call center, and I normally talk to branch reps in our bank branches...

Also I hate people who don't understand english usage.

Inputted... it don't look good...

Plus people who call in on speakerphone... then they don't hear when we answer and then all of a sudden you hear a phone pickup and "Hello?"

What are YOUR work-place pet peeves that drive you MAAAADDDD?

This probably only applies to office-like tech jobs. But here goes:

- People that play music out loud in their cubicle. Like anyone else wants to hear their shitty music. Get a pair of headphones for chrissakes.

- People that ignore important email, forcing you to hunt them down to get anything done or get a status update.

Just got to my new office, so I can't comment on this one, but at my old one, employee's who slack off, and then drag everyone else into their work because they are incompetant about what they are doing. Having a manager that will not discipline anyone. Thus the person who doesn't do anything doesn't get in trouble when said manager has been informed of the other persons actions many many many many times.

I hate the computer-illiterate people that work here and ask me the same questions about a simple spreadsheet every fuckin week.
I also hate how some people are so concerned about others work habits and feel the need to tell supervisor's about them. Why the hell should it matter if they get the job done without it effecting anyone else???

Yeah, people like that. But only when they're doing important things (not that TFP isn't important, you know what I mean)

I work in retail so right now i'm gonna have to say bosses that keep piling work on you and expect you to be able to finish it all. Heres the catch though. Youre only there for 4 hours, youre trying to finish a more important project and you are running on register and helping customers. Then your boss gets angry because it didnt get done. Argh!!!!

I work in tech support, so I have a number of pet peeves.

I'll limit them to the most frustrating.

People who call you for a problem, you tell them you'll be right there and so they leave.

Me: "Where did so & so go?"

Secretary: "Oh, she went to lunch. Did you need her?"

Me: "No, I know everyone's password, so I'll pull it up from memory and log in."

Another big peeve is people who send you generic work orders with no useful information at all.

User:When I double-click the icon for that program I use all of the time, it gives me an error. Can you fix it?

Me: smashing head on table

I could really go on for days....

When you're ready to close and there is a person in the store who is still enthraled in his shopping. I mean, he has to know our hours, right? Can't he tell that it's late and i need to go home and bathe?

Oooh, where to start... overly-flirtatious, very ugly female bosses; customers who believe it's YOUR fault when it's not; incompetent colleagues who make you look bad through their mistakes; ageing PCs forced to run Windows 2000 when they were perfectly happy in DOS, and crap applications custom-written for your work that crash all the time and, thanks to aforementioned crap PCs, take ten minutes to restart.

But I'll just go with the earlier poster and say that all of work sucks. All of it.

same thing here... working in a call center people seem to think I can hold two conversations at once. They come over and ask me "are you on a call", when I nod and wave them away they just start talking to me... then they wait expecting me to answer.... ACK!

im only 18 so i havent had a 'real' job yet but my biggest pet peeve from Retail and fast food are the rude ass customers who bust your balls over minor stuff. or people who get really mad over store policies and threaten you.

basicly just rude people.

its like cant you see im just a kid working here to get a paycheck and i dont make shit. so dont give me shit cause i dont make shit so therefore i dont give a shit.

When I used to work retail I couldn't figure out some of the customers. They were there as much as I was and almost as long. Don't they have lives? At least I was getting paid to be there.

Another retail peeve was the customers that walk in five minutes before we close and want to know about all of the computers, printers, or something else. We're closing can't you buy it tomorrow? I understand if you need ink or paper or something right now. But don't you hear the annoucements that we're closing in 5 minutes.

If I can help it I'll never work retail again. Now the only thing that really bothers me is the fridge at work. There's always something that's about ready to bite me when I open the door. And nobody knows what it is/was or whose it is.

When I worked wt U-Haul, my biggest pet peeve was the customers. They acted like they knew everything and yet there were only a select few who actually did know something and they were the people who had previously worked at U-Haul.

Then there were the trailers. *Notice for people renting from U-Haul here* At U-Haul, long distance trailers recieve minimal maintenance. They get fixed up so they can make it to your desination and then fall apart at the next U-Haul center.
I hated that. So whenever I got my hands on a trailer, I did a complete inspection of the trailer and fixed or replaced everything that wasn't up to par.

Now I work in the dorms at Arizona State University and my biggest pet peeve is when a mother calls and says something like "My son isn't fitting in, is there someone I can get in touch with?" I HATE calls from parents. I just want to say, "Your kid is on his/her own. Cut the ambillical cord." But of course I can't and so I just listen, rolling my eyes every 5 seconds. Then Give the parent the ASU general information number and hang up.

I work in a library on campus around my clases. There are two photocopiers in the building...one around the corner from the front desk and the other down stairs right next to the stairs. There's a piller mere feet away from the front desk that has information of where things are by the name of the object, and an arrow (ex: <- Photocopier). But people are constantly walking in and asking, "Do you have a copier?" Why the hell can't they read the f*&king sign!?! I'm in a library on campus for crying out loud! There's at least one copier in every library on campus and you have to ask if we have one!?!

I know it's not a big deal, but after two years of politely answering that stupid question, it gets to you. That and all the other questions that have answers on signs everywhere!
