Most expensive thing you've ever got for free or found?
I've been finding a lot of cool stuff recently. Free tv, flash drive and even a Sidekick 3. I tried to look for people to return them to though, with no luck. Those are mine, yours?

I used to do a lot of shoplifting.. most I've ever shoplifted in one day was about $300 worth of stuff. Most in a week? Thousands of dollars worth of stuff. I don't shoplift anymore, though. I've grown up. But, the most expensive single item I've stolen before was a $200 sweater.
Most expensive item I've FOUND before was a pair of Chanel sunglasses. After that was a wallet with tons o cash in it. It had no ID.. nothing to identify who the heck it could've come from.. so I just kept it. |

Define "free." I've always been very willing to jump through hoops to get "free" things. Some people would argue that I've paid with my time. Regardless, I count as free items I've received over the last few years from various promotions: 80GB iPod Classic, 8GB iPod Touch, TomTom One130, Original X-Box game system, 1 year X-Box Live online gaming, X-Box 360 wireless Controller and 2 rechargeable batteries, 4 seasons Futurama on DVD, a Disney Mixstick MP3 player, various Pepsi/Mountain Dew branded clothing items. Also, I found about $300 in cash one time. (Don't worry, I did try to find its rightful owner to no avail.)

I won tickets to Disneyland from a radio show when I was a kid. Twice. That was awesome.

That's a fucking rad guitar, dude!
I tend to get TV's for free. Either I win them or people give them to me. To date I've gotten 10-11 free TV's. The most expensive was the 36" LCD flatscreen I won at my last job. It was worth like $800.

Ooooh, it was 1999, the height of the "dot com" boom. My company had done some pretty sophisticated work for an online retailer. They were beyond thrilled with the work. They walked into the office with a stack of 6 gig Nomad Jukeboxes (the predecessor to the iPod...this is the time when 6Gig was more space than most servers had.) Retail price on them was something like $550/each. They passed them out like playing cards to the team. That thing was pretty sweet.
I miss those days. Web developers, we were like frikken rock stars.
