How Many Unread Emails in your Inbox?

how many unread emails in your email inbox?

currently i have 73 unread emails in my hotmail inbox. ive made the effort lately to go through all my crap and cut it down from the 500 unread emails i had a few weeks ago.

when i hit 500 i knew it was time to do something - a spring clean so to speak. its just hard to find them all. ive got 32 pages of emails from years of emailing that i need to go through (after deleting 430 unread emails). most of the unread stuff is from mailing lists that i rarely even read or ads or viagra pills.

have you done a spring clean lately? does it bother you if you have even 1 unread email?

i went to a friends place a few months back and he had 9000 (yes nine thousand) unread emails in his hotmail inbox. some people hoarde crap. my friend hoardes junkmail.

give us your stories!

Unread? Zero. At work, though, I have about 15,000 in there. Luckily, I get along well with our CIO, and he doesn't harrass me too much about them. I'm due for a pruning soon, though.

Seven, and all of them are either links to fanfiction stories I'm subscribed to but haven't had the time to sit down and read yet or urging me to vote/donate/volunteer. I also keep getting an email EVERY DAY from a mailing list I used to be the admin of for my living group in university, wanting me to moderate some emails that are being sent to the list. All of them are spam, and it's been five years since I used the list, so my password is long forgotten.

I try to keep my inbox relatively clean...so I just popped over there and now I'm down to two unread emails, both fanfic related.

None at home or at work. I am obsessed with keeping my email up to date.

My "spam address" has thousands of emails unread - I usually check it once per month and it has at least 3 - 4000 emails in it. I just empty them all at one time.

In my home inbox I have 6 right now that I plan to reply to soon. I check my inbox at home a couple times a day, delete a couple junks that sneak through, file in folders if I want to keep it.

In work I have about 10 in my inbox since I owe a reply to those. We have a decent filter so real junk is limited to a couple a day and I reply to most customer questions within a day, sooner if possible.

How the hell do you accumulate hundreds of unread emails? Are these accounts that you've forgotten about for several months, after deactivating the spam filter?

The most I've had at a time was around 20. I check all my accounts at least twice a week, and immediately delete any spam and read the rest. I guess seeing unread messages bothers me and I have to keep my inbox clean. Weird, because my desktops (both computer and wood) are cluttered with crap.

I have only five close friends. So all of them and thier wives email me to my office email id.

My office inbox never crosses 99 unread emails. Currently it is at 22. But when that is because I mark them unread even after reading. I mark them read and move to personal folders only after the action is taken, proper response is sent.

My yahoo id is currently at 120+. I dont bother. I go there only once in a week and clean up as much as possible.

none. My gmail account uses pop3 to come into my email client locally, so I don't have to go anywhere to read it and the spam filter in Thunderbird works quite well, so while I get some of that, it is hardly overwhelming, and most of it doesn't go into the inbox.

In my main email, there is nothing unread in my inbox.
However, I have 42449 unread messages in various folders.

I subscribe to several lists and it goes automatically into each folder.

In my workmail at present: about 69.

I get to read through about 200 mails each day, provided I work that day, if not, it's 400 the next day.

I don't read them all, and some mails I read, I remark as unread because they are put on hold.

Personal mail: main address: about 10, will read through those today probably

Others combined: about 30 unread.

None. I'm like little_tippler: Spam goes into the spam box and gets deleted at least once daily (in gmail, anyway) and I read all of my work emails in webmail over the weekend before I download them to Outlook on Monday morning. I had 53 "unread" emails in Outlook this morning, but all were read sometime over the weekend.

As soon as I see a new email in Gmail, I'm on it! Sometimes I wish I got more "real" emails, since a lot of them are ads or facebook notifications.

None in my active account. My old account that got spoofed has hundreds of thousands, waiting for Yahoo to keep their word and catch the a--hole who did it. I've a couple of more emails that I clear out occasionally... once every month or so. They have a couple hundred each; mostly newsletters and such that I really am not too interested in anymore.

Now, QW, on the other hand, maintains a healthy 3000 to 5000 unreads. She must really like me cause she always reads and responds to mine!

I have 2092 unread emails on this computer, and I've had it for about a month. I'm not even going to go look at my old pc (now my daughter's pc).

Some are spam type, but I delete them within 2 days usually. Most of them are Yahoo groups emails. I browse the subject titles each day, and when I find time time and want to play I'll go through them.

Over 300 on Yahoo.

I don't check those last two. They just get all the shipping notifications and ads. Gmail is more personal and whatever does seep through gets caught by the Google's awesome spam catcher. I just delete them in bulk without reading.
