Well given your above post, I'm gonna be more agreeable to your p.o.v. too. There are PLENTY of situations, probably even most, where responding with violence is totally unnecessary and just makes matters worse. But the "tone" of your very first post made me think that the hypothetical situation you posed was a more dire situation since you were talking about protecting loved ones, adults and children; and in a dire situation where me or my loved ones are being violently attacked, my killer instinct kicks in and I go "crazy" ...as has been described to me by observer friends who hadn't seen that side of me. Kinda funny, I posted details of a confrontation from several months ago and even the normally macho image guys said they crawled under their desks just reading how I reacted. I wish I had more faith in humanity. But I believe we are doomed to eternal imperfection, not because of any religious concept I believe in, just because we are ...well... human. So there will always be those among us that resort to violence to satisfy their greed. Sorry, but I believe we'd be better off without them. Love love love |

I would defend my Wife, then Daughter, then rest of the family.
I would give my life before I would anybody take the aforementioned peoples life.

I would fight for:
1. My daughter 2. My wife (even with all the BS, I'd still take a slug for her) 3. My immediate family (mom, dad, & sis) 4. A couple close friends

I haven't been put in the kind of situation where i needed to fight for someone. I'd like to think that if i were i could rise to the challenge. That being said, it would depend on who i was with; i could see myself trying to help out someone who needed it, but not if doing so would potentially put anyone in my circle in immediate danger. I guess that means i would fight for my family first, friends second, acquaintances, then strangers. Though it would definitely depend on the situation; is there such a thing as triage for ass whuppins?

In this order, the people I would protect are:
My husband My mom My sister My friends My neighbors My country I haven't got a problem with fighting if it's a life and death kind of situation. If there were someone trying to hurt or kill my family I would do everything in my power to take them down. I've gotten in to a few fights for my sister's sake. People used to be so cruel to her. |

I'd defend total strangers and close friends alike, without any hesitation.
If their life(lives) were in extreme peril, I wouldn't care what provoked such a life-threatening situation, what matters is that it be resolved by one who can accomplish the task of quelching hazardous situations. I believe we are in a brotherhood of man that should protect each other in times of dire need. Irregardless if you are an asshole or an angel, count on Jetstream to have the greater good of societal welfare in mind as I fight villiany in all its forms. *Bows*...*runs off into the night*(EDIT: I am not Batman; stop pestering me about it, 'cause the answer is still, always has and will be, "No, I am not the Dark Knight.")
