a nice long weekend with Skogafoss :) and a bbq with friends as the sunset over southern manhattan....

So many things about this weekend... wow. :) Birthday party with great friends, chocolate cake made from scratch by my love! :icare: , a challenging local hike, watching "Little Miss Sunshine" today, and lots and lots of cuddle and talk time with my ktspktsp. :D Sooooo much better than this very same weekend a year ago. :icare:

Just got annoyed by a singer pleading with me to do a crappy gig, but now I'm remembering back to the time when I wasn't getting asked by anyone to do any gigs.

Also, in the same vein as Abaya, I'm glad to be with my wife instead of on the other side of the earth for another 2 months.

Today I am greatful for all of my fingers. They have been through one hell of a lot with me.

They are my tactile portal to the world. I abuse them horribly and they still perform.

I am grateful today for the comedians that have shared their talents and made me laugh, the musicians and their bands that have written music that can soothe me, uplift me, make me feel a feeling (positively and negatively) that maybe I haven't experienced in a while, authors who write awe inspiring books, artists who show new realities and express what they see, for the actor and actress, who can play their part so well, I can forget it's a movie/tv show/play and "feel" what that person feels.

In short I am grateful for the artist, regardless of the art, for the beauty, hope and inspiration they give me.

I am grateful that I do not possess any weapons...

Today I am grateful for my ability to read. Without it I would be lost in a world of icons and symbols. I have taught myself some pretty incredible things by reading and will continue to exploit the incredible ability that we have all learned.

Not to sound superficial or money oriented....

I am grateful I had the $200 to buy Lady Sage tix to see her favorite bands Def Leppard and Journey.

The smile on her face last night as I printed the tix out for her B-day present was priceless and gave me a feeling of warmth, love and happiness that can be very rare to find somedays.

Hope.

The hope that maybe by some unknown force I can find someone to cover at work so I can go to my best friends bedside and be with her while she gives birth to her third child... the way she had planned.

Children, specifically my children. They give me reason to keep going, strength to keep trying to be the man they think I am, and hope for the future of our civilization.

My body, and the way it puts up with the abuses I put it through.

My husband, without whom I would not be this amazing person I am today.

I have never known the depth and breadth of love I feel for him, and it still astounds me every morning when we wake up next to each other.
