Dude, your auction couldn't be better but it's not without some personal crap connection. Some of you might remember I spent an entended hell around a hospital last year. My sis brought me the same box-o-doom dessert since she knew the place I bunked had a big shared kitchen. I don't know what the expiration date on that box was but it never made it to the oven.
On the first try I escaped my room in the wee hours just to do something positive and decadent for myself. Dessert time! I fired up the oven, greased and floured a pan and had all the necessary implements out only to discover there was no oil. Crap. Clean the pan and put everything away. Somewhere over the next month I bought oil and tried again. This time I think the problem was no milk. I do remember the third try there was milk but it was a nasty curdled gob, which struck me as remarkably similar to my psyche at the time. From then until the end that damned box sat in my cupboard staring back at me. Taunting my vain snack searches. It was truly the demonic torte mix from hell. Same batch?

Indeed - It probably was
WooHoo - It's on Fark Classifieds now Also, because people have bid on it I can't revise it anymore to post a link to the TFP. If you have an ebay account and are interested in helping me get the link posted, drop me a PM and I'll explain what we can do to get it up there

I thought about the 'seven year bad luck' thing at the time the breaks happened, but they didn't stay on my mind too long. The only "bad luck" I had from it was with hand mirrors. I think these things become indoctrinated into our lives as kids so much, they become almost habit as to us adults. Doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Well, just to update everyone - we've got just over a day left, and the bid is up to $2.25
I've gotten a number of messages about it, and I think it is in the realm of 1400 hits. Looks like we might fall short of the $8.00 I'd imagined

Holy mother of evil desserts... you got $10.50 for that thing?
You couldn't pay me to take it into my house. I have bad enough karma as it is. And, yes, I nearly choked to death while laughing at your Torte O'Doom.

I can't believe you got so much money for it! God bless Ebay - I'll have to think about selling some crap there myself. So who bought it and what did they buy it for? We are dying to know!

Well, 13 is my favorite number, but I do try to not tempt fate by walking under ladders, breaking mirrors, etc. Growing up we had a solid black cat and she was evil. I don't freak out if something happens that's supposed to be bad luck though.
I do believe I would have at least noticed the 13 on the box. I'm just drawn to it I suppose.....
