being a niner fan i have to say I love this,
for the following reasons.
1) TO said he wanted to test the market as does every other star player seeking more money, I do not recal him saying he hated being a niner or anyone he played with (with the exception of Garcia after this past season)
2)If the niners decide that they can do without him there WILL BE some decent compensation given back if he is traded away instead of some junk or him just leaving.
hopefully they can work out some kind of a deal in the upcoming seasons to have him retire a niner being 30 years old and at the top of his game i was worried they would lose such a talent and i do not feel that Lloyd will be the start TO is, or that Wilson and Streets are #1 potential.
on a side note the 49ers cut Garrison Hearst (no suprise after the 5 year extension Barlow signed earlier in the month) and long time niner and pro-bowler Derrick Deese, I only hope the O-line which was in shambles at times last year has something ready to replace him.
