Amen about the fanboys, but for every fanboy there is a man who proves them wrong time and time again in a humorous fashion...who just so happens to be me.
I was gonna nominate Final Fantasy 7, but I changed my mind and picked Metal Gear Solid. I was gonna pick Mario 3, but I switched to MegaMan 2. I was gonna choose Wind Waker, but...well, I did. I'm a fanboy in many ways, but I'm a not a stupid one that's blind to facts and the opinions of others, heh, so don't even dare toss me in that wicked category.
