I fell asleep in front a computer terminal while trying to write documentation for mainframe-based accounting software (about as exciting as it sounds).
All of a sudden I was hangin in space, blackness. In front of me, going up, down, right and left to infinity was a glowing blue wall. Suddenly the damn thing _pivots_ so that it falls down onto me and sweeps me down and forward.....
to a view of a clear view sky... But my point of view is still pivoting, and as I watch the peaks of strange mountains poke up in the bottom of my field of vision. I suddenly got the strong impression that I was looking out at the world through somebody else's eyes, and he had been looking at the sky and was now lowering his head to look at the mountains. I also felt a strange, increasing tension as if something was about to snap, and was suddenly and intensely afraid that I was about to be trapped in somebody else's head. Then I woke up, looking at the terminal.
A few minutes later, I tried to reenter whatever mental state I had been in, and I almost made it. I was actually in my own head, watching my thoughts drift by as if they were leaves floating on the surface of a creek that I was standing in. But it also felt like I was on one end of a telephone connection after the other party had hung up.
To this day, I feel like somebody else was trying to contact me in some way, for some reason -- not necessarily a good one. My wife likes to say that it was probably some Tibetan monk messing with my head through telepathy.
