Restore scorched stainless steel stove burner covers
If you accidently scorch your stainless-steel stove burner covers - don't throw them out. Try this - it might work.
I tried it once and it worked great. Probably depends upon how badly they are burned, however.
1. Coat the burner cover with a thin layer of katsup.
2. Let it sit for a while - but not so long that the katsup dries.
3. Rinse under running water.
4. Repeat if necessary.
I think that the acid in the katsup is what is at work here.
I got this idea, when I accidently dripped katsup on the bottom of a copper-bottom pan that was pretty discolored. when I cleaned the pan later, the place where the katsup had been rinsed clean.
