Restore scorched stainless steel stove burner covers
If you accidently scorch your stainless-steel stove burner covers - don't throw them out. Try this - it might work.
I tried it once and it worked great. Probably depends upon how badly they are burned, however. 1. Coat the burner cover with a thin layer of katsup. 2. Let it sit for a while - but not so long that the katsup dries. 3. Rinse under running water. 4. Repeat if necessary. I think that the acid in the katsup is what is at work here. I got this idea, when I accidently dripped katsup on the bottom of a copper-bottom pan that was pretty discolored. when I cleaned the pan later, the place where the katsup had been rinsed clean. |

Another thing that will do the same thing but will work much faster and leave a shinier shine is Tabasco sauce.
I even use it to restore old coins to a shinier version for collection/resale. it is as good as any silver polish (tarn-x) but is cheaper and doesn't smell near as bad.
