Lacuna Coil is the shit.. I actually was introduced to them due to the craze Evanescence created when they came out about a year ago. Downloaded a few songs, then shortly after bought all of their CD's. Good stuff, hopefully they'll hit the states again soon as i'd love to seem them live. Christina Scabba.. enough said..
Another band I was introduced to at the same time is The Gathering.. They've evolved quite a bit with each CD and I like where they're headed as well.
