A set of headers added over 100 hp to those cars (definitely not normal!), and so everyone added it. Adding headers to a Z06 won't do very much at all.
The guy I mentioned had both of his cars dyno'd. The L88 had headers, but no other mods. It made 480 rwhp. The Z06 made 350...

Agreed. In 1969 the L89 motor (less powerful than the L88) was rated at 435 hp, the maximum hp that a production car was allowed to have at the time......The L88 was subsequently rated at 435+ hp.....
