ummm....what OS.

Are you positive it isn't working (i.e. search for something you KNOW is there)

Are you sure it isn't just searching 'My Documents'?

Ans lastly, have you tried right clicking on the actual drive icon in 'My Computer' and select search?

Just some ideas.
