Slam Ball... a guilty pleasure
It's fun to watch.. what can I say?
It's like a mix between basketball, hockey, and backyard fun.
Assuming this grows in popularity, do you think it could ever achieve professional sport status?
I don't think so... here are my reasons...
Right now, it doesn't take skill to play. While it's fun to watch, at the end of the day, you realize any young guy who is reasonably fit can jump on a tampoline and dunk a ball.
The risk of injury is crazy. You land funny ONE TIME and your whole ankle is gone. No more Slam Ball for you.
It's too much of a copy of major sports that it will always lack the credibility to become one.
