well, I routinely travel 40 hours to and from africa from the east coast, (about 20 in the air), and aside from sitting in the exit row you can still get a good seat if you know what you're doing. If it isn't a full flight just scout around, also, if you're well dressed you can sometimes sneak into business class and just sit down there... if they catch you, feign insanity. Also, on the 747-400s there's an area in the back of the plane, a little door that says crew rest. In there are a few bunks in a raised area. You can either sneak in if the door is unlocked (rarely) or if you make friends with one of the flight attendents, they might let you in if you make a sad story about how exceedingly tired and sick you are from overwork and travel... if anything fails just stutter and act confused. The bigger problem in travelling is finding a good seat in an airport for a long layover... but thats a different story
