My heart goes out to you and her; I can only imagine what it must be like to have to deal with this.
I am a romantic and I'm like many here who want to say "go for it." "Better to have loved and lost..." etc. But that's easy for me to say, imagine, and think about here on the other side of the Internet. I haven't been through anything remotely similar to this and can only tell you what my heart says. Reality often is different and it usually sucks.
I know that regardless of what ever decision you make, it seems she has already touched you in a way that you will never forget.
