I've only heard one bad thing about Ruger, and even that one is understandable, but keep it in mind:
If you have a customized Ruger ie, after market parts installed, be sure to remove them before you send the gun in for service. If you don't Ruger will remove them all and replace with factory parts!!! The reasoning is that they can't warranty your after-market parts, and thus can't stand behind the repair job. You won't get the parts back either.
I have no personal experience with this, but I've heard this from reliable sources.
