You know, I just realized I was talking out of my ass in my last post... jpegs WILL work for bump mapping, they just have to be in grayscale for them to work properly... Sorry about that!!!

Switch your file format to something non-compressed, like bitmaps or tifs, you will save yourself a headache in the long run, and your scenes will look better.

Even at maximum resolution a jpeg is still a lossy format.

Is there any way you could post your images so we could take a look at them?
