..."Playing off the Rail" is a really good book about some guy who used to be really good, got married, quit playing, got divorced, couldn't play anymore but had money and took some player from california all across the US to hustle (true story), they even came to a few pools halls that i used to go to in Baltimore and described how crappy the scenery was. Didn't do much for baltimore, but it was true enough - at least the area they were in.
