I heard a rumor somewhere a long long time ago that FF3 and Secret of Mana would be released together. Probably false, but that'd be pretty damn cool.
And all this talk about the numbering reminds me of when FF7 first came out, people were pissed because they didn't realize the difference in numbering and thought that Square had either skipped or just never released 4-6 over here.
