oral herpes is herpes simplex I. genital herpes is herpes simplex II. varicella zoster (i think thats the name) is chicken pox and thats a differant herpes virus still.
like someone else said, oral herpes is transmittable through kissing or just sharing anything that has a persons saliva on it. this would be shared food, drinks, etc.
oral herpes is transmittable to the genital region, and genital herpes is transmittable to the oral region. (yay, one more thing to worry about). its not advisable to go giving oral if u have an open cold sore.
Stuff magazine said that 64% of women have oral herpes, although i've read that the estimate for the general population is 50%-80%. the reason the gap is so large is because so many ppl have it that dont say anything to doctors.
Most people got it from their parents from kissing them hello/goodbye/goodnight etc. Now that more parents know, hopefuly this wont happen as much.
i hated learning about this kinda hting in microbiology class, cause having learned about all this stuff that icould get from other people, it makes a person want to live in a bubble. also- microbiology class was awhile ago, so i'm goin from memory. everything i said i'm pretty sure about except for that part about chicken pox. feel free to look it up.
