Actually, canker sores are not herpes related. They are the sores you get on the inside of your mouth, on the moveable mucosa. You know, the things that develop after you bite your cheek or something.

They can be stress related, and cand pop up somehwat randomly, but they are not contagious, and they are not herpes related.

Cold sores are. They typically appear on your lips and/or outside of your mouth in the form of a bunch of really small blisters that can pop and get all gooey and crusted over.

Most people will get this form at some point in their lives....often as an infant. Most people just don't notice because it doesn't continually pop up as a huge cold sore.
