Michaelangelo's in North Beach, The Slow Club and Slanted Door in the Mission, Chez Papa, Chez Maman, and Baraka in Potrero Hill. High end...Jadiniere, Gary Danko's (1 month list so your too late for that one), Boulevard, way too many to list really. San Francisco has better food than any other city, yes, even NY. Try to stay away for the hard core tourist areas. The city is made for tourists, but the best parts of the city aren't where the tourists are...
Great live music at the Bottom of the Hill in Potrero Hill. I have seen some very big name bands in that little place.
