links2 is included on the Gentoo Basic CD at least- I used it to browse TFP as I bootstrapped last night.
As for the giant cow, she means in the background of the CLI. Perhaps some discs don't have it??
Cheerios, which instructions did you use? The new "handbook" ones or the older, but still up to date, ones?
