Eat less. Exercise more.
That's all there is to it. There's no such thing as a "spot" exercise -- you can't do an exercise that "targets" your love handles (or your belly, or what have you). It doesn't matter what it is -- just that you stick to it. Better to walk at a brisk pace for thirty minutes a day for a year, than to jog strenuously for thirty minutes a day, but give up after a month.
