Sorry, but without the system right in front of me I can't give you much advice (and I have to admit I'd never heard of Amphion, but then again I'm not in Canada).
Plugging the center speaker into the subwoofer channel isn't the greatest way to test it. If you have an old subwoofer, or can borrow a friends this would be better. Or you could bring your Amphion subwoofer to a friends house who has a home theater system.
After that your best bet is to call Amphion or take the subwoofer (if you find that the subwoofer's the problem) to a stereo repair place. Hopefully it's something small that can be fixed.
