Amphion Mediaworks Theater System T-352
Well, I didn't know which forum this has to go into. A home theater system isn't a computer, so I figured it's supposed to be some form of home entertainment right?
So, here's my problem. My mom just got me a T-352 Home Theater System from Amphion Mediaworks. Yea, she's the bestest mom . But anyhoo, I was messing around with the speaker and the subwoofer and I thought I'd play some techno music. While I was listening to the music, I thought I'd test how loud the theater system will get to. So, I turn the volume up to 80 which is the max. But then, that's when the problem starts, I noticed that the subwoofer wasn't actually viberating. Sure enough, I was feeling viberation mostly from the centre speaker but when I was holding on the subwoofer to see if anything was coming out of it, it was just silent. So, I unplugged everything out except the subwoofer. It wasn't even working no sound was coming out of it. So, I plugged the subwoofer into where the centre speaker, it works like a beaut. So, I plugged the centre speaker into where the subwoofer is suppose to go into, it wasn't working. So, I put the centre speaker back into where it's suppose to be plugged in and sure enough it works. Because the subwoofer is a "special" part of the home theater sys, I wonder if anybody had this problem before and found a way to resolve it or is the subwoofer jack not working? Right now, I just put the subwoofer and the centre speaker into the centre speaker's jack, both are working. Nothing is plugged into the subwoofer's jack. Any thoughts?

Sorry, but without the system right in front of me I can't give you much advice (and I have to admit I'd never heard of Amphion, but then again I'm not in Canada).
Plugging the center speaker into the subwoofer channel isn't the greatest way to test it. If you have an old subwoofer, or can borrow a friends this would be better. Or you could bring your Amphion subwoofer to a friends house who has a home theater system. After that your best bet is to call Amphion or take the subwoofer (if you find that the subwoofer's the problem) to a stereo repair place. Hopefully it's something small that can be fixed. |

Does it work when the volume is at 79?

No, doesn't work at any volume Level.
sadatx, I never heard of Amphion Mediaworks either then again, it's from United States. My mom actually brought it and sent it up to me. She lives in Ohio. I'll be sure to test it with a old subwoofer.

I tested the system with the old subwoofer. Didn't work either. I was messing around with the settings until I came across the option of resetting all the setting to factory default. So, I resetted everything back to the original settings. Guess what? The subwoofer works. So, I looked around in the setup in the menu to see what was different and was testing some of the settings back and forth. I realized that I set the centre and the front speakers as "Large" as opposed to "Small" So, when I switched from small to large, the subwoofer just stop and when I switched back, it was working again.
I realized that the subwoofer was only "used" to compersate (sp?) for the lack of power the centre and the front speakers. So, if you have a large speaker, just make sure they're set to small if you want to maximize the use of the subwoofer. Of course, Dad wasn't happy when the subwoofer started working.
