I have always loved Terry Gilliam more than any other director.
His 1977 film Jabberwocky must be mentioned as a must see for Gilliam fans. His crown jewel for me will always be Brazil. 2004 should find us watching his latest effort, The Brothers Grimm.
I feel I must also second the recommendations of El Topo and Delicatessen. They are delightful to watch.
