Hopefully it is only a matter of time before society and employers can see the person the earlobe is attached to.

Maybe i am biased since both my earlobes are at a half inch. I just think it is ridiculous when i hear people make broad, ignorant generalizations about the character of random strangers based on their appearance. I would love if, at some point, getting a job was actually more being able to do the job competently and effectively, than conforming to the interviewer's prejudices and misconceptions.

P.s. boo, i think it is a huge stretch to blame the poor service at a restaurant on the fact that your server had her toungue pierced. It seems more like you're still angry and in order to make yourself feel better you are picking out some superficial detail and harping all over it.
