Beating the DVD marketing strategy
I don't understand why people would consider buying a dvd (of some series) mid-series, when it's obvious that when the series is completed and all together, they'll release like the huge complete set with all this extra shit. More to the point, why peoepl end up buying both? like regular things released normally, and then a week or so later they get the super-dooper-extrastuff-re-release-remastered edition as well?
Maybe just wait it out a bit and get all the stuff at the end?
The main examples i am thinking about at the moment, are The Matrix Trilogy and the Lord OF teh Rings Trilogy. IN about 6-8 months time, i imagine, we'll be seeing the super dooper boxed sets of all three with all extra special shit, which people (and namely collectors) love to get. Sure it's cool to buy the normal ones, if you're just interested in the movies, but i hope some people do realise that this is what's going to happen? (namely the ones, who are proned to throwing money around and end up buying, essentially the same thing, twice)
So maybe just wait it out a bit.....
