My girlfriend had a voicemail the other day from some guy in one of her classes that asked her out. She told me about it as soon as she checked it (granted I was there) but we just sort of laughed about it and I told her to make sure she at least called the guy or talked to him. I used to be shy too and if I worked up the courage to ask a girl out I'd be pretty pissed if I didn't hear anything, rather a "no" than being unomfortable around that girl from that point on.
