I know it costs more to execute someone than it does to put them in prison for life, but i have yet for anyone to break it down and explain WHY. incarceration costs something like 15-25k per year per prisoner... how can a shot cost more than a single year in prison, let alone a lifetime? And what's the purpose of these "humane" executions, when the people getting executed didn't extend that courtesy to their victims? I think cruel and unusual should only apply to people we aren't going to execute.
