Two things to consider. First, this could be a behavior problem with little recourse. Second, it could be a urinary tract infection, more commen in females, I think. Your vet can order food with a different ph level that may do the trick. It worked with a cat I once owned.
I like cat, I just can't eat all of one at one time.
