I agree as well. It'll do wonders for your karma. And it's a nice thing to do. Who knows, you might just gain a friend out of the situation.
I would let your girlfriend know though.... If she's not the jealous type she should be fine with it. And she'll most likely feel proud. "Hey, girls find my man attractive, and he's all mine!"
