I was arrested once. I was coming back from a football game, it was late August and rainy. I had been playing so I was covered in mud and smelled really bad. I was pulled over and they said they had a warrant out for a failure to appear in traffic court.
It seems I had pled not guilty to the ticket to buy me some more 'scratch' raising time and then paid the ticket before the next court date. The cashier gave me a receipt, which I still had on me, and sent me on my way. Problem is she didn't note it in the computer. So when court day came about a week later they issued a warrant on failure to appear.
It was a giant hassle. In the end, the judge, who court I had been in once or twice...
, apoligized, cleared up the bail shit at the sherriff's office and issued me a personal check for the amount of the ticket, which I thought was nice.
