po po, run for it

have you ever gotten arrested? if so, why?

i remember my experience. me, back in my high school freshman days, with 2 others friends, were very desperate and decided to do a wake n' bake (simply put: roll out of bed and smoke weed). we walked to an abandoned house lot (located in one of the most prestigious houstonian neighbourhoods), went into the backyard, went into the doll house of the little girl (they were remodelling their house) and lit up the 90 dollar bubbler purchased the day before. 15 minutes later, as we were gathering our things to go, 2 cops walk into the gate. i ran, my 2 friends stayed like morons. ran around the block, hide the drugs (which she found later), got tackled, read my rights, and put into a police car, along with my 2 fat friends. the last thing i remember about it was laughing hysterically at my friend痴 silent fart, while the girl cop was yelling at me to stop. this all happened before 11:00 am, now pathetic. i got charged with a class a misdemeanour, which means 18 hours of "drug and alcohol awareness" classes. the teacher was a pigeoned headed lady named Rita Kallo (which made it even more funny), and where kids showed up high, drunk or rolling. all in all, it was a fascinating experience.

Never been arrested, but once I was at the airport picking up a friend and forgot I had some ganja in my pocket. I went through the metal detectors and they started going off. It happened twice. On the third time when they asked me to empty my pockets...I stopped looked around and actually thought about "run(ning) for it". Now first of all running from a metal detector at an airport is not a good thing, especially if you look middle eastern like I do.
It ended up being my belt buckle or something like that so I didn't have to empty my pockets. Very Very close call.
I know that had nothing to do with being arrested, but the "run for it" made me think of that story.

Once me and two friends were out late at night walking around, otherwise known as being dumbasses, and we saw a cop. Me and one of my friends took off running, but my other friend stayed because he was fat. We evaded a couple of cop cars and were finally able to sneak back to my house, however the cops were there already and my friend ratted us out. We had nowhere to go so we turned ourselves in, I don't think we got in any real trouble.

When I was 15, living in Tokyo, my friends and I ordered a lot of pizza using someone's parents' money -- about one large pizza per person. There were about 10 of us. We forgot to order drinks so we went out to buy some. We ended up eating the pizza outside in a park and, because we had so much extra pizza, we started throwing it at each other. One of my friends, covered by tomato sauce, ran away because we were focusing on him. The cops saw him, assumed the sauce was blood, and chased us. We should have just stuck around and explained that it was just pizza, but we were stupid and decided to run. We split up and half of us got away. The other half (myself included) were surrounded and taken into custody. They didn't buy our story at first but we convinced them to return to the scene of our pizza fight to show them the pizza. They said that if we cleaned up the pizza and other trash in the park they'd let us go without calling our parents, and we cheerfully complied.

That's about as close as I've come.

Never been arrested but had a close call...
We were egging some kids house at 2 AM, when two squad cars just happened to be driving down a side street(We'd just gotten there, no time for them to call police). Well they pulled up with flashers, so the five of us just start cutting through yards. I was sprinting with an officer right behind and was upended by a chainlink fence, cut my stomach pretty good, but I got up and kept going. I lost the police officer and camped out behind a neighbors garage. I saw about 3 or 4 police cars driveby shining their spotlights in yards. Everybody just kind of hid for a half hour before returning to my car.

I was arrested once. I was coming back from a football game, it was late August and rainy. I had been playing so I was covered in mud and smelled really bad. I was pulled over and they said they had a warrant out for a failure to appear in traffic court.

It seems I had pled not guilty to the ticket to buy me some more 'scratch' raising time and then paid the ticket before the next court date. The cashier gave me a receipt, which I still had on me, and sent me on my way. Problem is she didn't note it in the computer. So when court day came about a week later they issued a warrant on failure to appear.

It was a giant hassle. In the end, the judge, who court I had been in once or twice..., apoligized, cleared up the bail shit at the sherriff's office and issued me a personal check for the amount of the ticket, which I thought was nice.

I got drunk one night on campus, we decided to walk around. My friends started breaking into a building. I decided that would be the time to leave. My friends were arrested and told to take the campus drug and alchohol abuse class. The teacher never showed up and they scored some weed while there were there.

My freshman year in high school I used to Tag (graffiti), and prouded myself on doing detailed multi-color tags, that usually took most of the night. My buddies an I had perfected techniques on stealing spray paint (why Wal-Mart in our area doesn't sell anything but black, white and red spray paint anymore). That's aside the point, never got busted doing that.

One night, we were doing a large public park bathroom, and a cop car rolled up, we booked, ditched our back of paint in a bush, and ran down through a creek, hopped multiple fences, ducked in through my friend's backyard, and into his basement window. We could see the cops driving and wandering around the neighborhood with flashlights. We never did get busted, and ran from the cops a couple more times (one time at the railyard, and another from under a bridge under the interstate). I was transferred from one school to another (never showed up to class except for tests, had 74 unexcused absences in half a semester, yet nothing lower than a B grade in any of my classes?). I stopped tagging with those kids at that point. One of them got caught, busted, and had his ability to get a driver's license pushed back to when he turned 18. I used to get the biggest thrill running from the cops... Now, I'm usually one of the people who has to talk with the cops, cause I'm usually the most levelheaded and calm of my friends.
