I actually dated a girl who came from a family of wiccans and they all practiced regularly. They explained it as a worship of the natural forces. Pagan yes, but evil or black? Not from what I witnessed or understood, though I didn't involve myself with it in any great depth.
There are extremists in all religions no matter who or what is being worshipped. That is obvious by the events that are transpiring around the world.
Is it not possible their are different sects within each group practicing in different ways? Christian Example: Catholics taking Communion; The very Southern Baptist sect ( excuse me if they are not Baptist) who use rattle snakes in their prayer sessions.
