I think the term has evolved to become generally accepted as a compliment.
After all, it basically just means that a woman looks good to younger men. Sure - it's different words - but it basically just means the same as "You're not getting older - you're getting better."
If you think about the verbage used, yes - it's crass, but c'mon - we can't take everything so literally. If I use the term MILF to describe someone, does it mean I literally would like to commit adultery with her? Hell, no - it just means she's an attractive woman who's no longer in her twenties.
At last, that's what it means to me - your results may vary.
