Manhattan great place...book your flight now on Orbitz or Hotwire it will save you a few bucks. As for which airline, well that’s preference. I prefer Continental & Delta.
Hotels ummmm there are so many to choose from it will make your head spin. I grew up there and only stayed in one, The Paramount, six years ago $279 a night lots of space awesome view, room service etc. Don’t have a link but sure you can find it, get the NY restaurant guide (Zaget) I think that’s how you spell it, anyway it lists everything you want to know about every restaurant in the city. Cabs can ad up, take the train or walk you probably get there faster. Buy a map! If you want to venture out of the city, go to Coney Island, the cab ride will cost you about $30 so again take the train its only about 1 hour.
I personally like NY this time of year everyone seems to be a bit nicer around the holidays...
