There's a sweet onion from Hawaii called the Maui something. Very similar to the Vidalia and Walla Walla.
I'm on the west coast, and Walla Wallas are more common here than Vidalia. But I've had both, and I'd say that the Walla Walla is at least the equal of the Vidalia. It's been too long since I had a Vidalia, though, to say any more.
